how to NOT be an NPC on the seoul subway 💀🔥

Yo, if u visiting korea and riding the subway, don’t be a clueless tourist lol. It’s super clean and fast, but u gotta know the unspoken vibes so u don’t get judged by Korean ahjussis and ahjummas.

Here is the real tea on subway manners fr fr:

1. NEVER sit in the pink or red seats 🛑

At the ends of the train cars, there are red seats. DO NOT sit there bro. Those are ONLY for grandmas, grandpas, or injured people. Even if the train is empty, sitting there is a huge L.

Also, the pink seats in the middle are for pregnant women. Just leave them open, no cap.

2. Let people OUT first, fr 🚪

When the train doors open, don’t just push ur way in like a villain. Stand to the sides, let everyone get off first, and THEN u walk in. It’s basic logic, guys.

3. Shhh… keep it on mute 🤫

The subway here is insanely quiet. Watching TikTok without headphones? Nah, straight to jail 💀

Put ur phone on silent mode, don’t take loud calls, and talk quietly with ur friends. Everyone is tired from school or work, so don’t be annoying!

4. Hug ur backpack 🎒

If it’s rush hour and the train is packed like a sardine can, ur big backpack is gonna hit people. Take it off and hold it low, or wear it on ur front like a shield. Trust me, it helps a lot.

5. Walk on the left, stand on the right 🏃‍♂️

On the escalators, if u just wanna chill and ride up, stand on the right side. The left side is a fast lane for people who are literally sprinting to catch their train. Don’t block it!

That’s basically it! Follow these rules and u’ll look like a chill local instead of an NPC. Have fun in Seoul! ✌️
